How is possible that a science background person like you, eventually ended up in the travel industry?
I started working as a scientist for a leading research laboratory. I have always liked to find new therapies for different illnesses like HIV or cancer. I decided to do a Science bachelor's degree due to my passion of biology and mathematics. After spending a couple of years abroad in USA and Germany working as a scientist, I decided it was time to start a new adventure in Sport travel industry. Recalling the popular saying: "It is never too late to start what you really love"
From all the years in the sport travel events, what would you highlight?
Living new experiences comes along with this type of job, either because I come along with my clients or because I want to discover new sports events. In both of them, I try to enjoy it as much as possible and be aware of how lucky I am.
You are from Spain, so you must have a favourite football team..
It has been a key part of my life as far back as I can remember to be a supporter of Atlético de Madrid Club. I am a membership since 1999. My earliest memories comes from when Atlético de Madrid won the league and the cup double in 1996 at Vicente Calderón Stadium, at that time I was only 10 years old.
Finally, considering that the travel industry is mainly lovely, tell us a negative aspect of it.
The fact that we work in the tourist sector makes us to live mainly wonderful experiences, some better than others. The worst things happened to me was to watch alive my favourite football team losing twice the Champions League Final against the city rival team of Real Madrid. That is a thorn in the flesh that we will remove for sure some day.
